Vintage Auto Inspired Room for my Boy

I had featured a rag strip bunting I had created for the tractor birthday party you can see here. I always like to try and find a way to re-use my party supplies or decorations, it makes it more justifiable when I purchase them!

For this particular item I found a perfect place in my son's bedroom. I hung it from the curtain rod so it hang nicely between the two curtain panels.

His room is definitely a work in progress still, even though he is a year old! The theme is Vintage Auto, there are old Jeeps, trucks, tractors and pedal cars throughout.  The colors are mostly red and blue with a touch of rustic copper metal to pull it all together. For directions on how I made the bunting see the post here.

There are a lot of items in his room that my husband and i have collected over the years and some that I picked up while I was pregnant. The old rusty jeep my husband found at a metal recycling yard, the truck photo was something I purchased years back at Ikea. The initial block letters are from a darling local children's store, Sugar Babies. The metal stars I found on clearance at a local craft store, Artco.

This cork board is hung above his crib. For the letter 'A' I added diamond plate printed paper to it and a metal Jeep cutout that I had spray painted red. I then attached to the cork board. My goal at some point with this board is to add pictures of him throughout the years with his daddy doing things they love together; fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, playing in the dirt, etc... and maybe a few of him and his sister, while they still act like they love each other!

I found this star coat hanger at Hobby Lobby, perfect since they match the stars hanging on his wall. Of course he already has a Carhartt & tractor hat, waiting for him to grow into.

My mom found these adorable vintage pedal car pictures on clearance at a furniture store. Even better the picture on the right is just like a pedal car my husband and his father had when they were young.

His room is slowly coming along, once he is in a big boy bed is when I will finally finish it off, hopefully!

Happy Thursday, only one more day to go!
