Peter Rabbit Baby Shower

Peter Rabbit Baby Shower AK Party Studio

When the Spring and Summer seasons come it makes me think of two things in the party planning
world...babies and weddings! Today I wanted to share a cute idea for a backyard baby shower!

To celebrate the newest little bundle of joy I decided to use the mischievous, yet cute character Peter Rabbit for my inspiration. The book by Beatrix Potter is a  true classic, Peter Rabbit is one of the oldest children's characters created. I love the vintage feel this story creates and the fact that it is a British written story appeals to my heart even more.

I found the most darling plate and napkins from Hoopla Events. The great thing about this theme is that it would also make a cute Easter set up or birthday party.

The shower was held in the late afternoon, light refreshments and snacks were served. If you are short on time or on a tight budget, a good tip for making your party setup less stressful is to plan an event between the lunch and dinner hours. This will allow you the time to setup and prepare light snacks, versus an entire meal.

I made vanilla cupcakes with chocolate hazelnut frosting. I can't the decorating simple by dipping each cupcake into sugar crystals, this made frosting and decorating quick and simple.

I found this "oh baby" banner at Target and thought it would be such a cute addition to the theme. I took the same look and applied it to the chalkboard sign on the dessert table.

The cupcake toppers were actually gift tags. I used a circle punch to create the shape I wanted for the topper and hand wrote the "oh baby" sign to match the banner.

I set out a mix of homemade popcorn in little gift bags. These bags were a bit taller, so I cut each one to make them easier to fill and eat from. I used the same gift tags I used to make the cupcake toppers, I wrote "Ready to Pop!" and applied them to the bags.

I dressed up glass jugs with water by applying a cute straw with washi tape.

I love showering any momma-to-be with a little fun, great laughs with friends and some much needed relaxation before the new arrival. I hope this backyard party gave you some fun inspiration for your next event, it doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive to be great, it's all about the wonderful company and special chats.
