Hippity, Hoppity...Easter 2014

As each Easter comes and goes I find myself enjoying it more and more. There is something so peaceful and beautiful about family coming together to celebrate, eating delicious food and watching the excitement on the kids faces as they search for those hidden eggs!

This year was really the first year my daughter understood the concept of the Easter Bunny. She woke us in the morning and asked if the Easter Bunny had come, so my husband got out of bed and said "I don't know lets go see" as she follows him into the kitchen I hear him yelling her name saying "hurry, hurry" you're going to miss him I see him, I go out to find them on the front porch and she is looking all over for the bunny. It was the cutest thing.

She came back inside all excited and immediately started checking out the goodies in her basket.

Her brother on the other hand slept in so after he decided to wake up he got his basket too.

My husband and I hosted Easter brunch at our home, for both sides of our family. This is becoming a family tradition that I just love. Everyone came together to celebrate, we had so much delicious food, lots of laughs and of course an egg hunt for the kiddos.

My mom made these adorable Easter Bunny Cakes in a Jar, inspiration found here.

My talented mother also made these delicious bunny shaped biscuits. They were so good! Recipe found on Scratch this with Sandy.

I made this really yummy fruit salad, the recipe is from a favorite blogger of mine, I am sure you have heard of her, The Pioneer Woman. Her recipe can be found here. I followed her recipe except for a few things. I only added about 1/2 the juice of an orange and 2Tb. of sugar and I omitted the water. The salad was oh so yummy and was even great as a leftover.

What's Easter without a little deviled eggs??? Now I don't particularly like them (egg, yucky) but I know everyone else did!

It was truly a fabulous day, even the Pacific NW weather gave a break for one day and we had some beautiful sunshine.
Happy Easter from our Family to Yours!
